About Me

(or: How I Ended Up Here)

Let me save you some time: I am not your typical “girl in tech” story.

I didn’t grow up coding in my bedroom or dreaming of Silicon Valley. I stumbled into the tech industry the same way most people stumble into bad decisions — through a series of unfortunate events, questionable life choices, and one retail job that should have come with hazard pay and a therapist.

Somewhere between surviving help desks, decoding jargon that was clearly invented to intimidate people, and realizing that the tech industry has a serious diversity problem it keeps pretending not to notice — I found my thing. Turns out, my thing is making technology less terrifying for women who’ve been made to feel like they don’t belong in the room.

So I built a room of my own. You’re in it.

The Blonde Byte is where I write about tech without the condescension, consult without the corporate nonsense, and occasionally rant about the absurdity of an industry that acts like women are a radical new concept. I’m a tech writer, consultant, and reluctant spokesperson for the idea that you don’t need to look, sound, or think like a Silicon Valley bro to belong in this space.

Fair warning: I have strong opinions, a low tolerance for gatekeeping, and a sarcasm setting that cannot be turned off. If that offends you, Google exists and the back button is free.

For everyone else — hi. Pull up a chair. Let’s get into it.
